Mehazabien Chowdhury’s debut film "Priyo Maloti", which received praise from both critics and audiences since its theatrical release on December 20, is now set to premiere on the OTT platform Chorki. The film, based on real-life events, will be available on Chorki starting February 6 at 8 pm. Directed and written by Shankha Dasgupta, "Priyo Maloti" tells the story of Maloti Rani Das, portrayed by Mehazabien, a newly married woman struggling to make a living with her husband, Polash Kumar Das. Their simple life takes a dramatic turn after a devastating fire accident at a market. The film explores the socio-economic and emotional challenges Maloti faces, reflecting the struggles of many women in the country and questioning unethical societal practices. The movie features a strong ensemble cast, including Azad Abul Kalam, Shahjahan Samrat, Rizvi Rizu, Anisul Haque Borun, and Nader Chowdhury. "Priyo Maloti" has already been showcased at prestigious festivals such as the Cairo International Film Festival and the International Film Festival of India and recently won an award at the Dhaka International Film Festival. The film is produced by Frame Per Second and Chorki.
