Saudi Arabia has announced a ban on children accompanying pilgrims during this year's Hajj. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah explained that the decision is made to protect children from the risks associated with the large crowds that gather during the pilgrimage. The goal is to ensure the safety and well-being of children, preventing any potential harm.
Additionally, the ministry stated that priority for participation in Hajj this year will be given to individuals who have not performed the pilgrimage previously. This is in line with the regular process to allow new pilgrims to experience the holy journey.
For the 2025 Hajj season, registration has begun for Saudi citizens and residents via the Nusuk app and the official online portal. Pilgrims must verify their details, list companions, and submit any requests for exemptions, such as those involving accompanying mahrams.
