In a heartwarming gesture, 100 rickshaw pullers will attend an exclusive screening of "Rickshaw Girl," a film that mirrors their own lives. Organized by Bongo, the film's digital content partner, the event recognizes the struggles and resilience of rickshaw pullers, offering them the opportunity to experience a story that reflects their daily realities.
The screening is scheduled for February 11 at 4 pm at Joy Cinemas in Keraniganj. Along with the rickshaw pullers, the event will feature appearances from the film's director, Amitabh Reza Chowdhury, and cast members. The movie follows Naima, a young artist who takes up rickshaw pulling to support her family after her father falls ill, all while striving to achieve her dreams.
Based on the novel "Rickshaw Girl" by Mitali Perkins, the film stars Novera Rahman as Naima and includes performances by Champa, Momtaz Chowdhury, Naresh Bhuiyan, and Allen Shubhro. After its theatrical release, the film will be available for streaming on the Bongo platform starting February 12.
