Unidentified criminals in the divided city of Khulna have shot and killed a student. The event happened on Friday about 9:30 p.m. while Arnab Kumar Sarker, 26, son of Nitish Chandara Sarker, was having tea on the Abu Ahmed road in the Sonadanga neighborhood of the city. Professor Sheikh Mahmudul Hasan of Khulna University's business administration department attested to Arnab's enrollment as a Master's student in their program. Arnab was drinking tea while resting against a motorcycle at the city's Tentultala crossing when the criminals arrived on a motorcycle, shot him in the head, and then left the area, according to witnesses. Arnab was gravely wounded when the bullet entered his head. He was quickly saved by locals, who then transported him to City Medical College Hospital, a private hospital. However, the doctors declared him dead.Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) deputy commissioner Md. Moniruzzaman told Prothom Alo that the police are investigating the event and have already begun arresting those involved.
