Metro rail services restart after two suspensions today
Metro rail services were disrupted twice today, leading to significant inconvenience for thousands of passengers. In the morning, the metro service was halted for about 15 minutes due to a malfunctioning door at Shewrapara Station. Later, in the afternoon, the service between Uttara North and Pallabi Stations was suspended for about an hour and a half following a fault in the signaling system at Uttara North Station. The issue with the signaling system was resolved when one of the two transformers powering it was fixed, allowing the service between Pallabi and Motijheel to resume after 40 minutes. The entire metro line returned to normal operation by 2:50 pm, as confirmed by Mohammad Abdur Rouf, Managing Director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd (DMTCL).
