Operation Devil Hunt: 7,310 Arrested in 2 Weeks
Since the launch of "Operation Devil Hunt" on February 8, at least 7,310 individuals have been arrested nationwide, according to the Police Headquarters. In the last 24 hours, 461 people were arrested, and four firearms along with a sharp weapon were seized by the joint forces. Additionally, 1,189 people wanted in previous cases were also taken into custody during the same period. The operation was initiated by the government to restore law and order following an attack on "students and people" in Gazipur. Reports from various districts indicate that many of those arrested are members of the Awami League and its associated bodies. A significant number of them are accused in cases filed after the fall of the Hasina-led government on August 5.
