Passport issuance no longer requires police verification
The government has abolished the police verification requirement for passport issuance. Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus stated that obtaining a passport is a civil right. Foyez Ahammad, Senior Assistant Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser, shared this update on his verified Facebook account on Sunday. The decision was announced by Dr. Yunus during the opening session of the deputy commissioners' conference held on the same day. In addition to the passport announcement, Dr. Yunus urged the deputy commissioners to stay alert in maintaining law and order and take necessary actions at the field level to control the prices of essential goods. The conference is scheduled to continue for three days.
