Normal train connectivity with Rajshahi following a five-hour derailment
After around five hours, rail service between Rajshahi and the western part of the country has been restored. Around 6:30 a.m. on Monday, an intercity train coach traveling the Rajshahi-Chilahati line derailed. Around 12:15 p.m., train communication on this line resumed as usual when it was recovered and the required repairs were completed. Shortly after departing Rajshahi railway station in the morning, a coach of the "Titumir Express" train had derailed in the Belpukur neighborhood of Puthiya, Rajshahi. On one of the train's coaches, two wheels came loose from the rail. Additionally, the rescue mission was conducted after the fact. According to Moin Uddin (Azad), the manager of Rajshahi Railway Station, this was the first train of the day to depart the station. Because of this, other trains have not been able to leave Rajshahi station since the morning. Two further trains, the Silk City Express and the Banalata Express, were stranded at Rajshahi Station. The departure times for these trains were set for 7:00 and 7:30 am, respectively, for Dhaka.At approximately 11:45 am, when train services on this line resumed, the Banalata Express train was the first to depart. Additionally, all other trains will begin to run in shifts.
