In a tragic incident yesterday, two Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinees lost their lives in a head-on collision involving their motorcycle and a pickup truck in Shibpur upazila of Narsingdi. The accident occurred as they were returning from their examination center.
The deceased have been identified as Nafiz, 22, of Hajipur in Narsingdi Sadar upazila, and Swadhin, 19, of Baduarchar village under Hajipur union. Both were students of Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan University College in Shibpur.
The fatal crash took place around 1:45 PM in the Bajnabo Bus Stand area, situated on the Itakhola-Shibpur road. Police confirmed that the two students had just completed their HSC examination at the Shaheed Asad Collegiate Girls’ High School and College centre and succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
Authorities have seized both the motorcycle and the pickup truck involved in the collision. Md Kohinur Mia, Officer-in-Charge of Shibpur Model Police Station, stated that the bodies would be handed over to their respective families without autopsies, following their request.
Separately, another fatal road accident was reported yesterday in Noakhali, where Md Abdur Rahman, alias Sumon, 38, a sub-assistant agriculture officer at the Department of Agricultural Extension in Begumganj, was killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a motorcycle, police confirmed.
