Tahura Sultana Rekha, a 25-year-old woman from Chattogram, achieved an impressive feat by walking from Teknaf to Tetulia in just 26 days. She completed her journey on Friday evening, reaching the Banglabandha Zero Point in Panchagarh. Rekha's mission was to promote a healthier lifestyle and raise awareness about the benefits of walking, while also exploring Bangladesh’s diverse beauty. Her resilience and determination have earned her praise from many.
Rekha, who hails from Bhashkhali Gandamara in Chattogram, started her journey on November 29, walking from the zero point of Shah Porir Dwip in Teknaf. She is a graduate in Islamic History and Culture from Chattogram Women's College and funded her journey through her own business earnings. She owns a travel agency in Chattogram, which she started in 2020. Rekha’s journey was part of her broader project titled "Sea to Himalayas," which she divided into three phases, each involving unique challenges, including swimming across the Jamuna River and climbing Himalayan peaks.
Throughout her journey, Rekha was joined by many supporters, including children, which made the experience even more thrilling. Reflecting on her journey, she expressed a desire to continue taking on similar challenges to inspire others and spread awareness about healthy living. She is already planning future projects to further this cause.
